SHERIDAN VILLAGE COUNCIL
September 10, 2019
The regular meeting of the Sheridan Village Council was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by President Rob Train.
Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Approved Agenda with additions: Trustee Wyckoff McFarland moved to approve the agenda as amended with additional items, Trustee Scott offered support. All ayes, motion carried.
Council Present: Train, McDougall, McKay, Scott, Sisson, Wyckoff McFarland and Wagner.
Public Comment: none
Approved minutes for August 13, 2019 regular meeting. Trustee Scott moved to approve, Trustee Wyckoff McFarland offered support. All ayes, motion carried.
Council reviewed paid bills as of September 4, 2019, Trustee Scott moved to approve paid bills as presented, Trustee McDougall offered support. All ayes, motion carried.
Council reviewed bills to pay. Trustee McKay moved to approve to pay bills presented, Trustee Wagner offered support. All ayes, motion carried.
Council reviewed the Treasurer’s Report. Trustee McDougall moved to approve Treasurer’s report as presented, Trustee Sisson offered support. All ayes, motion carried.
Doug Lane, Village Superintendent/Street Administrator – nothing to report.
Ed Lingeman, Assistant Village Superintendent – Spoke with Kennedy today, our orginal sales person has left, Ed spoke with J.C. who will be handling our project. They are planning to get started Wednesday, September 18th. Everything that needs to be done here is complete and generators are ordered.
Kathy Sanders, Village Clerk – no report
Janice Jourdan, Village Treasurer – Road Commission contracts came in under budget. We are not able to change the John Deere payment schedule. New checking account is opened at Sidney State Bank for the Debit card. The fire insurance checks have been deposited. Audit sent a draft audit report Monday. We have about $61,000 left to collect in Summer taxes. Planning to prepare a budget report for the first half of the year for next month’s meeting.
Steve VanHolstyn, Code Enforcement Officer – Council reviewed a submitted report.
IT – Met with Rich from Casair. Eric felt he was offering too large of package for us. Council reviewed the new proposal and discussed the pros and cons of implementing a credit card reader. It was also decided that we would shut off the card reader October 1st for the Farm Market.

NEW BUSINESS: (agenda additions)
Trustee Wyckoff McFarland presented an idea being worked on by Sheridan Elementary PTO to have a new spin on Halloween this year. They are planning a Trunk or Treat event with bounce houses and other fun things to do. Residents will be encouraged to participate or may pass out treats from their home.
Trustee Wagner explained how PA495 works as the Village has recently dealt with this insurance claim.
